Every Thursday, I think, night in the summer, everyone would bring their classics, tuners, race cars, etc. to University Avenue in Saint Paul, Minnesota, US.
I remember going several times, and it was great to see all the cars, and smell the exhaust mixed with fried foods.
They stopped doing it mostly because they tore up University between Saint Paul and Minneapolis to out in a light rail train network.
Now, instead of just being four to six lanes wide for automobile traffic, its four lanes, mostly, for east and west travel with light rail tracks in the middle.
I wish I could find a scene like that again. My current ride doesn't really fit the bill, and the closest to a car meet I can get these days is to show up to a bass meet with other local folks.
But I have young kids, so you can imagine how much of a pain in the ass it is to bring them anywhere for more that three minutes.
There are 3 or 4 cruise nights every week around here during the summer, but we are nearing the end of our cruise season. The part I like is these are cars that are driven and not trailer queens.
